Share Your Heart, And I’ll Share Mine

Is love so fragile / And the heart so hollow / Shatter with words / Impossible to follow / You’re saying I’m fragile / I try not to be / I search only…for something I can’t see / I have my own life…and I am stronger than you know / But I carry this feeling / When you walked into my house / That you won’t be walking out the door / Still I carry this feeling / When you walked into my house / That you won’t be walking out the door / Lovers forever / face to face / My city or mountains / Stay with me stay / I need you to love me / I need you today / Give to me your leather… / Take from me… my lace /

You in the moonlight / With your sleepy eyes / Could you ever love a man like me / And you were right / When I walked into your house / I knew I’d never want to leave / Sometimes I’m a strong man / Sometimes cold and scared / And sometimes I cry / But that time I saw you / I knew with you to light my nights / Somehow I’d get by / First time I saw you / I knew with you to light my nights / Somehow I would get by /

Lovers forever… / Face to face / My city or mountains / Stay with me stay / I need you to love me / I need you today / Give to me your leather… / Take from me… my lace / Lovers forever… / Face to face / My city or mountains / Stay with me stay / I need you to love me / I need you to stay / Give to me your leather… / Take from me… my lace / Take from me… my lace / Take from me… my lace /

~ Leather And Lace by Stevie Nicks

Being vulnerable is scary. Knowing that you are worthy of being loved, for all that you are, is complicated. We all have stories as to why we don’t deserve what our hearts’ desire. We get so busy taking care of other people that we forget to take care of the most important one of all; ourselves. You are stronger than you think. The truth is, we have all survived or overcome one thing or another in our lives. Those experiences have participated in molding who we are today. So many of us, get attached to this idea that we are alone and that no one would understand. Thinking, that, if they only knew, they would never want anything to do with “me.” That is not true. Your pain isn’t so different from mine, your mother’s, your neighbors, or your lover. The fears that you have, are the fears that everyone has in love, and in life. We all want to be loved for who we are. To be accepted unconditionally. You are not alone. Who you are, is unique. Who you are, is wonderful.

The Great Nora Ephron, A Tribute

“I try to write parts for women that are as complicated and interesting as women actually are.”

Nora Ephron

“I look out the window and I see the lights and the skyline and the people on the street rushing around looking for action, love, and the world’s greatest chocolate chip cookie, and my heart does a little dance.”
Heartburn

“I love that you get cold when it’s 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”

Billy Crystal to Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally

King Of The World

At ten in the morning
I was laughing at something
At the airport terminal
At nine in the evening
I was sitting crying to you over the phone

Well passing the border from a state to another
Filled with people whom I couldn’t help to relate to
And we stopped a while at a roadside restaurant
Where the waitress was sitting outside smoking in her car
She had that look of total fear in her eyes
And as we drove away from there she looked at me and

She smiled
I keep running around
Trying to find the ground
But my head is in the stars
And my feet are in the sky
Well I’m nobody’s baby
I’m everybody’s girl
I’m the queen of nothing
I’m the king of the world

And once you asked me well what’s my biggest fear
That things would always remain so unclear
That one day I’d wake up all alone
With a big family and emptiness deep in my bones
That I would be so blinded, turn a deaf ear
And that my fake laugh would suddenly sound sincere

Now I wasn’t born for anything
Wasn’t born to say anything
Oh I’m just here now and soon I’ll be gone
I’m nobody’s baby
I’m everybody’s girl
I’m the queen of nothing
I’m the king of the world

Now everyday there’s a short intermission
While I sleep they start dimming the lights
But I’ve seen everything I ever want to see
Screaming “Fire!” in a theater people taking their seats
Watch it all go down like a stone in a stream
If you fall for your reflection you will drown in a dream

Tell me something real
Tell me something true
I just want to feel there’s something left that I can do
But I’m nobody’s baby
I’m everybody’s girl
I’m the queen of nothing
I’m the king of the world

Some days call to you more than others. The sun is shining, a feeling of optimism is flowing through your body. There is a need to move. A need to shake your body; to dance in the sweet delight of life. To sing your heart out, regardless, of how you sound. Too often we celebrate other people, we celebrate their success’s, well what about ours? Our success counts just as much as our friends, family, and loved ones. Don’t shy away from that. Hold your head up high and simply say, ‘Today Is My Day! Kiss the sun with your eyes and soak up all the goodness. For, it is, when we truly celebrate ourselves, nourish our body/mind/soul’s, that we can celebrate an other. Pure, Free, Love.

I’ll Be Your Mirror

I’ll be your mirror
Reflect what you are, in case you don’t know
I’ll be the wind, the rain and the sunset
The light on your door to show that you’re home

When you think the night has seen your mind
That inside you’re twisted and unkind
Let me stand to show that you are blind
Please put down your hands
‘Cause I see you

I find it hard to believe you don’t know
The beauty that you are
But if you don’t let me be your eyes
A hand in your darkness, so you won’t be afraid

When you think the night has seen your mind
That inside you’re twisted and unkind
Let me stand to show that you are blind
Please put down your hands
‘Cause I see you

I’ll be your mirror

The Velvet Underground

We are all mirrors for one another. The truth is, like you, I have been hurt. Like you, I don’t want to be hurt again, nor do the people that we have hurt. What we can do is have integrity; we can treat one another respectfully. Although you or I may be having a challenging time in our lives’, that doesn’t mean someone else should carry our burden. Chances are that that person has their own challenges.  Being a mirror, means, not only seeing the other person, but most importantly seeing yourself. Seeing your self for the beauty, for the darkness, for the twisted and the kind that we all as human beings have to offer.

It isn’t about being perfect. What is perfect anyways? There is, you, there is, I, and through being leaders for ourselves we lead others. Since being a child I have been told, ‘treat others as you would like to be treated.’ I will be honest, I am human, I have made mistakes-big ones, and I haven’t always executed that theory. However, I have always walked away from a broken friendship, a break up, learning something valuable about myself. The lessons I have walked away with, the new awareness I have had for myself hasn’t always been pretty. The lessons have been hard, and at times, humiliating. On the other side of that, I have had realizations that I am pretty fantastic. I am a good person. I have also had the realization sitting amongst good friends that I am not alone in these feelings or experiences because after all, we are all mirrors for one another.

The Great John Bunyan

A Passage From John Bunyan:

” Although I have been through all that I have, I do not regret the many hardships I met, because it was they who brought me to the place I wished to reach. Now all I have is this sword and I give it to whoever wishes to continue his pilgrimage. I carry with me the marks and scars of battles-they are the witnesses of what I suffered and the rewards of what I conquered. These are the beloved marks and scars that will open the gates of paradise to me. There was a time when I used to listen to tales of bravery. There was a time when I lived only because I needed to live. But now I live because I am a Warrior and because I wish one day to be in the company of Him for whom I have fought so hard.”

Self – Creativity – Art

“Love the art in yourself, not yourself in the art”

Stanislavski

“The language of the body is the key that can unlock the soul.”

Stanislavski

“What is important to me is not the truth outside myself, but the truth within myself.”

Stanislavski

The Artist’s who inspire you are the ones who give of themselves. They are the ones who bare their naked hearts; their gypsy souls. They share their beauty and they share their ugly. They affect you. They make you feel like you belong, and that you are not alone. You identify with their words, their music, their movement. The way they take a paint brush to canvas, it catches your eye in such a way. You identify with them because you see yourself in them. We are all mirrors, and within each person there is a glimpse of ourselves. Whatever your art is, love yourself, commit to the exploration of self, find the beauty, the love in what you do every day.
